PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
Prayer of Confession (In Unison)
Holy and awesome God, we stand in your presence
filled with regret for our many sins and failings.
Though there is greatness in us, and a deep longing for
goodness, we have often denied our better selves
and refused to hear your voice calling us to rise to
the full height of our humanity.
For there is weakness in us, as well as strength.
At times we choose to walk in darkness,
our vision obscured.
We do not care to look within, and we are unwilling to
look beyond at those who need our help.
O God, we are too weak to walk unaided.
Be with us as a strong and wise friend,
and teach us to walk by the light of your truth.
All offer silent prayers.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
The FUMC Outreach Team recently hosted the first Christian Women’s Fellowship at
the Wood River Community Center. The event was a big success! There were 23 ladies in
attendance, and all WR churches were represented which is a wonderful start for this new
program. Mary Bilslend and Linda Thompson did a superb job with food, organization, the
speaker, and leading the first event. Please join us in thanking them!
The ladies in attendance overwhelmingly thought the interdenominational women’s
fellowship was a great idea and want to continue it. Judy Wagoner and Mary Frances
Wagoner volunteered to organize the next one, which will be held Wed 8/10/16 with food
from 5:30-6:30 and a speaker at 6:30. Please mark your calendars now to attend, and
invite at least one friend to come along with you!
It is time to prep the ice cream bags for the Royal Family Kids Camp. We need your
help on Wednesday, June 15, 2:30 pm-5:30 pm. Let Christy Burnett know if you can be
there. (308) 391-1378. If you would like to go to the camp to help the campers make ice
cream, you need to be 17. Adults are invited also. At 5:30, Tracy Watts will leave with the
ice cream bags and any volunteers.
Pastor Phil will be leaving town for Boy Scout camp this afternoon and will be gone
until next Saturday, the 18th. In case of emergency, he will be available on his cell, 308383-2512
