Help with LIGHTING / SOUND: If you would like to help run the lights and sound board for
the Talent Show, please check here.  DUE Monday 15 MAY.
*You will be working with Dan Merriman who will show you what to do. This will be an opportunity to
learn how the lighting and sound help enhance performances onstage.
Talent Show Guidelines
1. The talent show is open to HA students in grades 1-8.
2. Students are allowed to perform in only ONE ACT.
3. Solo acts MUST be no longer than 3:00min; Acts with 2+ performers MUST be no longer than
3:30min.

Itunes has musical creations tracks which sometimes offer shortened versions of popular songs.
Itunes and karaoke-version.com have instrumental tracks for many different songs.
4. All talent performances must take place on the stage.
5. Please make sure that the performance is safe and appropriate for all HA students.
6. Please make sure that any lyrics are appropriate for performance at the school.
7. Performance previews will take place during the student's designated Performing Arts classes on
Monday thru Wednesday 22, 23, and 24 MAY. The previews will help me to get an idea
of the acts that we will be seeing during the Talent Show, and provide an opportunity for feedback to
enhance their onstage performance. Each performance must be rehearsed/planned prior to the preview.
What we see in class should be what we will see onstage. Make sure to bring any props, costumes, and
music CDs or MP3s you may be using. (MP3s are preferable).
Application Checklist: All items below are due to Miss White by Monday 15 MAY
● A completed application form. For groups: All members must complete an application
and submit individually.
● Printed version of the text/lyrics of your piece/performance, including sheet music for
instrumentalists.
● Music-If using a performance track, it MUST be an mp3 on CD (no iPods/iPads, Youtube
links, etc…
