Vote Jon Orrell for County Councillor
Vote Caz Dennett for Borough Councillor
With Jon and Caz as your Councillors the Green Team can do more to
address concerns that many Westham East residents have shared with us:
★Protecting green spaces and play areas; keeping The Marsh public for
all to use and restoring community facilities
Result from most recent
County Council Election
(Rodwell 2015)
★Streets need to be cleaner and safer; free of litter, dog mess,
anti-social behaviour and crime
★Shortage of decent homes; housing that people, especially young
people and young families can actually afford
★Cuts to local health services; fear that some services will disappear
★The town needs to be better cared for; investment to develop a
vibrant local economy, support for small-business
We cannot simply accept that “this is the way it is”. We need to fight to
regain control over our community. Weymouth deserves better, you (and
your family) deserve better.
Greens can win here too.
Jon and Caz are your best
chance for change!

Vote for Jon Orrell and Caz Dennett on May 4th if you
want strong voices on County and Borough Councils
Principled, committed and stand up for what is fair and right
The Conservative dominated County Council has not opposed the central government cuts to our local
services. They’ve congratulated themselves on ‘delivering savings’. Jon and Caz fight to protect important
services, stand up for residents and gets things done. “To influence critical decisions that are made about you
on your behalf we need to increase our presence on both the County and Borough Councils. Many such decisions
do not appear to be in residents’ best interests and we want to change that.”
Believe that people and planet come first
As a Green Christian Jon believes we need to care for our
environment, learn to do right, look out for the interests of others
and help anyone in need. He joined the Green Party because its
core value is for healthy people on a healthy planet. Jon says “I
want to represent you to help bring about positive changes that
will make the area a healthier, better place to live, work, play or
simply enjoy, now and in the future.”
Support community action
Caz is appalled by the derelict play area near the swimming pool.
A recent report found that hundreds of children’s playgrounds
have been or will be closed by cost-cutting Councils across
England. Councils are blaming budget cuts for the decision to get
rid of parks and sports facilities. Caz said, “If the Council has no
cash we need to find alternatives to restore the playground. With
determination and the right support we can turn this derelict play
area into a Community Play Garden like the one at Chapelhay, which
is very successful.”

Caz Dennett protest to save
Kingfisher Children’s Ward at DCH
Effective local campaigners who get things done
Jon has a long personal history of campaigning to improve things
around here. He regularly speaks out for better conditions in the
private housing sector and helped prevent cuts to opening hours
at Weymouth Hospital. Jon, Caz and the local Green Team have
worked hard to make improvements:
• Protecting local health services and protesting clearly and
loudly against government cuts
• Campaigned to reduce air pollution and traffic congestion
•Regular community litter-picking, making our streets
cleaner and more pleasant
• Informing the local council of fly-tipping and getting it
removed
• Visiting residents to discuss individual and community concerns and share ideas for making things better

improve our environment and return
pride to our community
