Highlights of the program:
Only doctorate level program in the state –
more clinical time, smaller cohort so a
tight-knit community, a great lab space
OT Application Tips:
 Start researching schools and prerequisite requirements early! Most schools require the majority of your prerequisites to be complete prior to applying in the fall
of your senior year.
 Encourage students to start researching schools and requirements early
 Start applying early and submit applications well-before the deadline (at least a week before) in case something goes wrong or needs updating
 Be sure to requests letters of recommendation and GRE scores prior to application deadlines
 Do not suggest that you work your first semester as it can be a lot
 Personal statement is very important
 Attend information sessions to learn more about programs - you need to visit the schools you are applying to
 ECU provides an online "Exploring Occupational Therapy" course fall spring and summer and provides a great overview of the profession - OCCT 3000 at ECU
