Did you know: Did you know sound travels almost 5 times faster underwater than in air? Did you know the average human brain contains around 78% water? Did you know giraffes and rats can last longer without water than camels? Did you know you begin to feel thirsty when your body loses 1% of water? Did you know camels can drink 94 litres of water in less than 3 minutes? Did you know simply breathing in and out uses more than half a litre of water every day? Did you know for the price of one can of soft drink you can drink 1000 litres of tap water? Did you know that you, me and every other human on the planet is about 60 per cent water by weight? Water Facts for Humans: Being dehydrated can zap your energy and make you feel tired -- even mild dehydration of as little as 1 or 2 percent of your body weight. If you're thirsty, you're already dehydrated -- and this can lead to fatigue, muscle weakness, and dizziness Drinking water can help clear up your skin and people often report a healthy glow after drinking water. It won't happen overnight, but just a week of drinking a healthy amount of water (about 2 litres per day) can have positive effects on your skin Go into a sporting game dehydrated and you can be sure you won’t be as fast or focused. Being dehydrated can severely affect your athletic activities, slowing you down and making you less powerful. Exercise requires additional water, so be sure to hydrate with water before, during and after exercise Although a person can live without food for more than a month, a person can only live without water for approximately one week. Most mature adults lose about 2.5–3 litres of water per day. Water loss may be more in hot weather and with prolonged exercise.
