A Board Game That Helps Kids Learn To Think Wisely

The Bible says in Proverbs 3:27, “as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” In other words,
what we think is what we become. WOW, scary for us as parents if we aren’t providing
teaching opportunities for our kids to learn how to think wisely. To learn that as life
presents opportunities, how they respond to those opportunities will either draw them
closer to God or push them away.
We found a great game that does just that. It is called Abundant Harvest. Here’s what
the website says about it.
ABUNDANT HARVEST® is a one of a kind board game designed to help families
open the door to more effective communication, encourage more effective decision
making and reinforce the principle of “you reap what you sow”.

We like this game because it provides opportunities for families to draw cards that tell of
difficult situations. These situations then provide a discussion point for how one might
solve this problem. Thus kids have the chance to think through situations before they
are in the middle of them. We love the teen version as “many of the situations deal with
the difficult issues of drugs, family conflicts, peer pressure and the complex and
unpredictable nature of being an adolescent and/or adult in today’s world.”
