“Cerritos Library News” is a monthly publication with
information about the activities, classes and presentations
offered at Cerritos Library. “Cerritos Library News” is
included in the City of Cerritos’ newsletter “The Cerritos

In order to register, patrons must be in the City’s
class registration database and have obtained
a family account access PIN number and
individual family member personal numbers.
On-line registration tips
To check the availability or to register for classes,
please visit the Cerritos website at cerritos.us and
look for the on-line registration link. The program,
eConnect, is best viewed with Internet Explorer.
Before registering for classes on-line, print the
eConnect User’s Guide for step-by-step instructions.
Only Visa and MasterCard will be accepted as
payment. For additional information and/or to obtain
the PIN numbers, please call the Library Reservation
Desk at (562) 916-1388. Computers at the Cerritos
Library may be used to access eConnect.

MYSTERY BAG CHALLENGE
Each child will receive a mystery bag with a variety of
reclaimed materials and a prompt with a maker challenge. Each mystery bag and prompt will be different.

DIVE INTO ALL THINGS OCEAN
Get ready for the Library’s upcoming Summer Reading Program, “Splash into Reading,” with this exciting
art project! Using a variety of materials, participants
will assemble an ocean-themed collage that includes a
mermaid and sunken treasure. The fee is $5 per child. No
refunds will be given. Space is limited to 20 children.

Los Sanchez brings a family-based approach to
mariachi music. This performance will feature different
interpretations of mariachi and arrangements by Esbeyde

STAR WARS DAY
Thursday, May 4 is the worldwide day to say, “May
the Force be with you” to all and celebrate the Star Wars
story, the beloved saga that binds our galaxy together.
Join in the festivities and stay for a screening of “Rogue
One: A Star Wars Story” (PG-13), with a running time
of 133 minutes. All ages are welcome, and everyone is
encouraged to come in costume as their favorite “Star
Wars” character.

the Library’s terrace.

Learn about these curious facts and more as presenter Theo
Siegel discusses the making of this classic film. The talk
will be followed by a screening of “A Night at the Opera.”

But how important is the cover of a book? Book designer
Jaclyn Reyes of Penguin Random House will take us

turn her love of reading and art into a career in publishing.
