Muscular strength, cardiovascular endurance) Components of Fitness Cardiovascular Endurance – the ability of the heart and lungs to provide oxygen (ex. Running, cycling) Flexibility- the range of motion at a joint (ex. Stretching, yoga) Muscular strength – the force exerted by muscle(s) in a single effort (ex. Standing long jump, shot put) Muscular endurance – muscles exerting force over a period of time (ex. Sit ups, push ups) FITT Principle F – Frequency = how often I – Intensity = how hard T – Time = how long T – Type = what kind
