WATER LEAK FROM HEATER CORE AND EVAPORATOR CORE HOUSING/DRAIN TUBE FORD: 2011 Expedition, F-150 TSB 11-11-5 LINCOLN: 2011 Navigator ISSUE Some 2011 Expedition, F-150 and Navigator vehicles may have interference between the drain tube and the dash insulation installed between the case and the dash panel preventing the drain tube from protruding through the dash panel. As a result, there may be an interior water leak at the right or left front floor area. ACTION Follow the Service Procedure to correct the condition. SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. Remove the right front wheel/tire assembly, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 204-04. 2. Remove the right front fender splash shield, refer to WSM, Section 501-02. 3. Check the drain tube for any obstruction due to debris and clean as necessary. 4. From the engine compartment check the drain tube for interference with the dash insulation installed between the case and the dash panel preventing the drain tube from protruding through the dash panel. a. If any insulation is present, trim excess dash insulation that may be preventing the drain tube from passing through dash panel. Proceed to Step 5. b. If no insulation is present, do not continue with this article, refer to WSM, Section 501-00. 5. Seal around the dash panel drain tube opening with Motorcraft Clear Silicone Rubber or equivalent. (Figure 1) Figure 1 - Article 11-11-5 6. Install the right front fender splash shield, refer WSM, Section 501-02. 7. Install the right front wheel/tire assembly, refer to WSM, Section 204-04.
