The students worked super hard and did a fantastic job bringing home the 2nd place trophy. Thank you to all of the parents for your ongoing support and to the students for a job well done. See you next year and KEEP UIL ROCKIN'!! CMS Solo and Ensemble Contest 2017 After months of practicing band students competed in the Solo and Ensemble Contest on Feb. 3. This contest provides individual performers (soloists) and small groups of performers (ensembles) with an opportunity to perform for a qualified adjudicator. The adjudicator provides written comments and suggestions for improvement along with assigning an overall rating to the performance. The rating system is on a scale of first division to fifth division with first division being the highest rating possible. The students with the highest totals qualify for Nationals in Atlanta, Georgia. Ten students competed Feb. 21 in the History Bee Regional Finals at Perry Middle School in Carrollton. Of those 10, six qualified for Nationals. We are so proud of all our competitors.
