Message From The President and Chief Executive Officer “Business Creates Wealth” “When you hear the term Chamber of Commerce, do you immediately think of a collective body working together to create CAPITAL or obtain WEALTH? We share valuable business information, resources, and tools to achieve Entrepreneurial Parity and Economic Prosperity with all Business Owners in attendance. Tri-County Black Chamber of Commerce is just that; a Collective Economic body that operates on the principle that group maintenance and sharing is essential to creating CAPITAL and obtaining WEALTH. Our Plan of Work Conference is also scheduled every year in February as a tribute to Black History Month; recognizing the achievements of our Members and Supporters; and presenting our strategic programs and activities necessary to achieve our Mission, Vision and Goals. As a CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, our mission is to acquire and disseminate valuable business information, resources, and tools necessary for Member Firms, working together, to gain Entrepreneurial Parity and Economic Prosperity world-wide. Our vision is to be the leading network of prosperous Business Owners actively building wealth and promoting global competitiveness! Our goal is to provide a network of Business Owners with high level business development services to secure larger public and private contract awards. When you see our name you will immediately think of three (3) counties. Historically, our county-wide service area was relevant to 3 counties; however, today we have grown to 3 Regions; 3 counties being served in a designated Region. We are now providing Chamber Services to nine (9) counties; Harris, Montgomery, Liberty, Galveston, Brazoria, Fort Bend, Chambers, Jefferson, and Orange Counties. Our Mission, Vision, and Goals, are achieved through a body of collective and like-minded Business Owners, Advisory Board Members, and Supporters. Our programs and activities are determined within our Objectives; Business Education; Business Development; and Business Advocacy. These objectives are carried out through our established Board of Directors, Advisory Board, Affiliates, and special groups referred to as Councils. The Council Corp mission is to build leaders who will empower Business Owners with growth and success. Each Council is Chaired and Co-Chaired by a Member and consists of Members willing to serve on a selected Council. Every November select Councils determine the Plan of Work for the coming year by measuring the Chamber’s current year performance and progress. As we enter into our eleventh (11th) year of service, which began on the 11th day of February 2005; we will present our Plan of Work for 2016 at our 11th Annual Plan of Work Conference on February 11, 2016. We have assisted over 100 Member Firms in acquiring Affirmative Action Certifications and Navigating the Bidding Processes. We have fostered strategic relationships with Local, State and Federal Agencies to assist Member Firms in acquiring business readiness tools and resources to do business with public and private entities. Our Member Success Track program has assisted members in realizing a growth plan and developing a 30day Next Level activity plan. We have played a strategic role in assisting Business Owners with an international experience, trade exploring and facilitation. We have orchestrated several Partners in Trade Agreements between the City of Houston and the Country of Belize; gaining advantages in strengthening our trade relationships. The Chamber is a member of the Mayor’s International Trade Development Council for Central, South America and Caribbean. We believe that every Business Owner has a stake in our Plan of Work. We will safeguard this stake by working together; leveraging our resources; forming joint-ventures; alliances and partnerships; which in turn, ensures the success of every Business Owner.
