What do plants need to live copy

What four things do plants need to live?
Leaves contain a pigment called chlorophyll, which causes
the leaves to appear green. Chlorophyll can make food the
plant needs using carbon dioxide, water and energy from
sunlight. This process is called photosynthesis. During the
process of photosynthesis, plants release oxygen into the air.
sunlight
We get energy from food. Plants
make their own food. A plant
traps energy from sunlight with
its leaves.
oxygen
(Simple explanation) Plants are
the main creators of oxygen in
the atmosphere (photosynthesis). The tree uses sunlight and
carbon dioxide to produce
energy and it releases oxygen.
The girl breathes in the oxygen
and then breathes out carbon
dioxide.
carbon dioxide
Each time you breathe out, you
release carbon dioxide into the
atmosphere. Plants ‘breathe in’
carbon dioxide just like we
breathe air.
nutrients/soil
Nutrients from soil travel up the roots of the
plant. Nitrogen helps leafy growth. Phosphorous helps form flowers and seeds and protects
from disease. Potassium is needed for making
chlorophyll and helps prevent disease.
