Blacks In Government Department of Labor Chapter Scholarship Program: Celebrating the Successes of Its Scholarship Award Recipients Since its establishment in 1992, the Blacks In Government Department of Labor Chapter (BIG-DOL) Scholarship Program has provided one hundred and twenty six (126) scholarship awards and ten (10) monetary book awards to deserving high school graduates, totaling $141,500! In addition to providing at least three (3) annual chapter-sponsored awards, BIG-DOL has been honored to administer annual memorial scholarship awards funded by chapter members and/or their family members and friends, namely the Larry C. Hackett Memorial Scholarship Award and the W. George Binion Memorial Scholarship Awards. BIG-DOL is very proud of its Scholarship Program—a highly regarded and efficiently administered community service project in Region XI.
