General Reminders
At this time we continue to receive inquiries for September enrollment. Open House is
Wednesday, March 9th 5:30pm-7:00pm. If you know of anyone that is interested, please let
them know. I am aware that many of you receiving this newsletter will be going onto
kindergarten so you are not required to return the registration form, however if you have a
sibling that is eligible for preschool you may return the registration to secure your spot. I am
opening up registration to the public on Wednesday March 9th. After that date I cannot
guarantee your choice of classes. In May, all returning students and/or siblings attending in the
fall will receive a new packet of registration forms. It is required by law that all forms be
current each new school year. All forms must be returned to school by your child’s first day or
mailed to the school over the summer. Our 2016-2017 school year begins Wednesday,
September 7, 2016 with Children’s Orientation. Classes will start Thursday, September 8, 2016.
*Your March Enrichment Fee is due by Thursday March 31st. Please fill out and return the
attached envelope with your payment. I would prefer to keep the supplemental fee separate
from your tuition payment if at all possible. Thank you for your support. It is greatly
appreciated.
*Please return your March Scholastic book order by Thursday, March 3rd.
*Pajama Parties Thursday 3/10 & Friday 3/11
*School Picture Day for EVERYONE is Tuesday March 22nd!
*No School Good Friday March 25th.
*Our Letter Pockets this month are P, Q, R.
*Color for the month is GREEN. Shape for the month is OVAL.
*School News-March brings us a very busy, fun month. Since March is designated “Read Across
America’ month we have planned some literature activities to go along with our daily stories. We
will have a little bit of leprechaun silliness, and activities, stories and discussions with the
arrival of Spring and Easter at the end of the month, also.
We continue to work on letter recognition, letter sounds and writing activities. Our focus this
month are the letters P,Q,R. Please encourage your child to participate in our Letter Pocket
Pictures activity. Remember only 3 pictures a day. We would love more participation.
We will be celebrating the letter “P” with a Pajama Party at school on Thursday 3/10 and Friday
March 3/11. Everyone please wear your pajamas to school. Your children will not need a snack as
we are making popcorn and serving pretzels. I will also provide drinks.
*Gene Hutnak Photography from Greenville, RI will be at our school Tuesday March 22nd for
school pictures. Gene has been our professional school photographer for many years. He is
always very creative. A class photo will also be taken as well as individuals. Gene will photograph
your child full-view and close- up so please take that into consideration when dressing your child
for picture day. You are under no obligation to purchase pictures but we would like everyone to
be dressed for picture day for our class photo. You will receive previews of your child’s sitting
within 7 days after the photos have been taken, and will be able to choose which pose and
package you would like. Everyone is to arrive on Picture Day at 8:30am for our class
picture. Please be on time. It is very important. If your child does not attend school on
Tuesdays their individual picture will be taken first. We will be dismissing them as soon as
their picture is taken. You could choose to wait outside for them or run a quick errand and be
back waiting for them by 9:15am. Please mark your calendars!
Summer Camp information will be distributed this month!!
Cherry Hill Pre-School will run a summer mini-camp the weeks of July 11-15 and July 18-22,
8:30am-12noon. The price will remain the same as it has been for many years- $125 for one
week and $200 for the two weeks. I will definitely need at least 18 children each week to have
this camp or it is not worth it to run the camp. We have a lot of fun! The camp is outdoor play
and activities and more relaxed than our pre-school classroom usually is. I incorporate a story
each day with a special craft. Summer Camp is open to 3-5 year olds fully potty trained and 5
year olds who have not yet entered kindergarten. So please tell your friends and spread the
word! Thank –you!
