He brought all area tribes together to fight against the colonists to get back their land.
ANNE HUTCHINSON

Anne was a Puritan woman who was banished from Massachusetts Bay Colony by John
Winthrop

She preached that you didn’t need to be in a church to talk to God
•
She moved to Rhode Island and then later to New York
ANNE BRADSTREET
•
Anne traveled on the Arbella with her husband when she was 18 years old
•
Anne wrote poetry for her children and husband
•
Her brother-in-law published her poems in England, and she became America’s 1st Great
Poet
ROGER WILLIAMS

Roger Williams was a Puritan
•
He felt that religious freedom was for everyone.
•
The leaders of the Puritans disagreed with Roger so he left Massachusetts Bay Colony to
start the colony of Rhode Island
