Asbury Woods Nature Center is naturally a great
place for your child’s next birthday party. If
you are looking for something a little bit different– a place where you can celebrate your child
and their love of nature, animals and outdoor activities – then we have the perfect party options
for your family. We have a variety of exciting
NEW birthday party themes that appeal to young
children and fun nature adventures for elementary school aged children. Call and schedule your

Birthday Parties
Naturally, a good time!
Asbury Woods was established in 1957 through a
generous gift from Dr. Otto Behrend. The park is a 200acre tract of wetlands, trails, forests, streams, fields and
historic properties, and is one of the premier
environmental centers in northwestern Pennsylvania. The
Asbury Woods Nature Center is operated through a
partnership between Asbury Woods Partnership Inc. and
Millcreek Township School District. The Nature Center is
an educational facility owned by Millcreek Township
School District.

Party Basics
Birthday Parties are scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays and will begin at 1:00 pm and end at 3:00 pm.
During the first hour, an Asbury Woods naturalist will
lead activities for the children, related to the theme you
choose. Ages listed with each party theme are suggested
guidelines only. The second hour of the party is yours to
enjoy with friends and family. Children must be supervised at all times during this hour. Parties will be hosted
in the Discovery Room. The party room can be rented
for an additional hour for $25.00 more. Parties are
limited to 32 children and adults. Larger parties may be
hosted in other rooms, for an additional $50.00.

Pricing is based on 10 children in attendance
Members: $90 minimum
- $9 per additional child
Nonmembers: $100 minimum
- $10 per additional child
Member discount applies to family and grandparent
memberships only.
A deposit is required to hold the date for your party.
Processing fees may apply in the event of a cancellation.
Some party themes include a $20 materials fee, required
with the deposit.
Includes your choice of selected party themes and a special gift for the birthday child.
Goody Bags for guests can be purchased for $2 each.

Food and Drinks
Eco-Pirates (Ages 4-8):
Tree Frog the Pirate has hidden some treasure right here at
Asbury Woods Nature Center. Bring your band of explorers
and be ready to solve the clues that will lead us to the treasure!
*$20 materials charge
On the Wild Side (Ages 4-8):
Finally, a birthday party on the WILD side. This party includes your choice of two of the following activities, animal
show, hike, nature game or craft.
Scaley Tales (Ages 4-8):
Learn all about reptiles. Meet some of the reptiles that live at
Asbury Woods (turtles, snakes, etc.). Play games to understand unique reptile adaptations
Nature Fairies and Wizards (Ages 4-11):
Fairies and wizards help take care of the plants and animals of
the forest. Let's learn about interesting creatures that call our
forest home. Find the hidden fairy stones, and make a wand to
bring home. *$20 materials charge
Wacky Science (Ages 7-11):
Get a tiny bit messy but have a big amount of fun! Conduct
fun hands on science experiments with a naturalist. Learn
about interesting natural phenomenon *$20 materials charge.
Nature Art (4-11)
Creative kids will use natural materials and objects from nature to make a seasonal craft to take home. Nature art crafts
vary with the season and age of the child.
Snow Stompin' (Ages 5-11):
Engage in fun winter outdoor recreation using snowshoes
Learn about animal tracks and animal signs. Must have at
least 6” of snow on trails.
Campfire Birthday (Ages 7-11)
Celebrate your special day around the campfire. Roast marshmallows by the fire, then enjoy a guided nature hike. This
party theme is available in both summer and winter.
The adults hosting the party are responsible for
providing their own food, beverages, cake and ice
cream for the party. Please bring a cooler to keep your
items cold, if needed.
Activities
& Decorations
All plates, utensils and cups must be brought by the
adults hosting the party. Decorations in the form of
table covers, weighted balloons and themed supplies are
encouraged. Decorations may not be taped or stapled to
walls or cupboards, and no decorations are to hang from
the ceiling. No piñatas or confetti please. Asbury
Woods Nature Center provides the activities during the
party. Third party vendors are not permitted. If you are
