Tradition Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our traditions, ever reminding us to place principles before personalities. Concept The Conference shall observe the spirit of A.A. tradition, taking care that it never becomes the seat of perilous wealth or power; that sufficient operating funds and reserve be its prudent financial principle; that it place none of its members in a position of unqualified authority over others; that it reach all important decisions by discussion, vote, and whenever possible, substantial unanimity; that its actions never be personal, punitive nor an incitement to public controversy; that it never perform acts of government; that, like the Society it serves, it will always remain democratic in thought and action. Nominated by Hilary B; Seconded by Jennie G. 8 Those of you returning to PRAASA will know there is no way to adequately describe the PRAASA experience. For those planning to join us for the first time you are about to experience the most intense, enthusiastic service event you will have ever encountered. Our purpose is stated in our guidelines: "PRAASA, the Pacific Region AA Service Assembly, is sponsored by the Areas of the Pacific Region. The purpose of PRAASA is to develop greater unity among the members, groups and areas of the Pacific Region; to encourage the exchange of ideas and experiences; and to provide an opportunity for members to discuss pertinent aspects of AA. The Assembly and the PRAASA committee should always foster the Recovery, Unity and Service legacies." This sounds pretty straightforward and maybe a little dry (read boring) to those who have never tried it! The experience of PRAASA is something no one in AA, and certainly no one in service, would ever call boring. Once experienced it becomes an event you will never want to miss. The entire weekend is packed with panels, round table discussions, presentations, open mike sharing, speakers, and shared meals and, in every corner of the facility, with ongoing fellowship. All of this intense sharing is focused on how all of us can better carry the AA message to the still suffering alcoholic. The Utah Area is looking forward to hosting friends (some of whom we have yet to meet) from throughout the Pacific Region and Western Canada in a celebration of AA Unity, Recovery and most of all, Service. Join us in Layton, Utah, March 6, 7 and 8, 2015 - and for those of us who can't wait there's even an early bird meeting Thursday evening, March 5. See you there! PRAASA 2015 Planning Committee Utah Area 69 (And for those who can extend your stay, enjoy the breathtaking natural beauty that surrounds us. Utah is home to five National Parks, numerous national monuments, and extensive wilderness areas - and don't forget the "Greatest Snow on Earth" at the nearby ski resorts.)
