Short Conversation
Directions: Read the following conversation with your teacher.
▶ Emily walks in while Layla is getting ready to go out.
Emily
: Hey girl, are you going somewhere?
Layla
: Hey, I'm heading to Sophia's house to check on her. She broke
up with Steven a few days ago, and she's been pretty down and
heartbroken.
Emily
: Oh, god, she had another break up? What happened this time?
Layla
: Trust me, you don't want to know this one, snoopy.
Emily
: Hmm, that bad, huh? Let me guess, Steven cheated on her.
Am I close?
Layla
: I'd say you're close enough. Sophia caught Steven cheating on
her with her best friend.
Emily
: How in the world did that happen? I mean that's so messed up.
Layla
: Yep, told you! It's a piece of gross betrayal there, you know?
Emily
: Yeah, totally. I'd be suicidal if I were her.
Layla
: Oh, god, I hope she's not having any type of thoughts like that.
