Dear Parkmont Families,
We have reached the half-way point in our
school year. I can’t believe how fast this
year is going by! Before we know it the end
of the year will be here. Let’s enjoy the next
few months that are filled with lots of fun
activities and of course learning! You may
have received a progress report on your
child’s progress to this point. If you need to
talk more with your child’s teacher about
ways to help support your child’s learning,
please reach out to your teacher either by
phone or email.
If you haven’t taken the time to complete
the Parent Satisfaction Survey with the link
below, I would highly encourage you to do

PANTHER PROWL FUNDS
Thanks to the many volunteers who have
put countless hours of their time and
energy to put on a successful Panther
Prowl, our teachers were able to receive
their classroom donations, so thank you!
Our teachers are so grateful to the PTA for
putting on this wonderful event that brings
in thousands of dollars and benefits our
students every day.

Sibling Enrollment packets must be turned
in to Student Support Services in the District
Office, Rm. 123 on February 6, 7, or 8th by
4:30 p.m. No exceptions will be made.
Online priority enrollment for all other new
TK/K students will open February 15-March
29 by 4:30 p.m.
Enrollment for new TK-6th grade students
begins May 8th and is ongoing.
Kindergarten Lottery results will be posted
on May 5, 2017 at school site.

COLD & FLU SEASON
As a reminder, when students are recovering
from a cough or cold, medication should not be
sent to school with the student. This includes
cough drops or over the counter medicines.
This is for the safety of all of our students. If
your child is not feeling well, it is best to keep
him/her home. Students are always allowed to
make up any classwork or homework they miss.

PARKMONT SOCCER
We are excited to announce tryouts for our
new Soccer team! 4th, 5th, and 6th grade
boys and girls are welcome to try out on the
following day and time on the Parkmont
field:
BOYS – 2/2 3:15-4:15
GIRLS – 2/9 3:00-4:00
Mr. Schneider and Mr. Milz will be conducting
tryouts. Please pick up a tryout form from
the office and bring it with you on the
specified tryout date. You must have a
completed tryout form with both parent
and teacher approval in order to try out.

Health & Puberty Education program,
please try to attend one of the above
meetings. We will also hold preview
meetings here at Parkmont, dates to be

SCIENCE FAIR WINNERS
AFTERNOON TK/KINDER DROP OFF
As a reminder, please do NOT drop off your
TK/K student before 11:20 a.m. We do not
have any playground supervision and
students should not be left alone to line up
along the fence. Students are welcome to
line up prior to 11:20 if a parent/guardian
stays with the child the entire time. Parents
who are waiting with their child are not
supervising other children. Please keep
your child safe by remaining with your child
or dropping off after 11:20 each day.
PTA FOUNDERS DAY
Please join us for our annual Founders’ Day
event on Tuesday, February 21 at 7:00 p.m.
in the MUR. We will be honoring the
amazing efforts of our volunteers and all of
the time and dedication they’ve given to us
here at Parkmont.
6th GRADE MATH PLACEMENT TEST
A meeting will be held for Parents of 6th graders
on March, 13th from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the
District Office. Please see the attached flyer for
more information. You must pre-register if you
plan on attending.
Thank you so much to all the science fair
participants. Your hard work and thinking was
apparent in the high quality projects submitted.
