SNS SUBJECT: 71-60 AIR INTAKES - Installation of Intercooler Flange Stiffeners
1. COMPLIANCE
Mandatory: Cirrus considers this Service Bulletin to be MANDATORY. Accomplish this Service Bulletin at
the next scheduled maintenance or annual inspection, whichever occurs first. Compliance time begins
upon receipt of this Service Bulletin.
Concurrent compliance with SB2X-71-23 (Baffle Gusset Installation) is required.
2. EFFECTIVITY
Cirrus SR22T Serials 0001 thru 0712.
3. APPROVAL
FAA approval has been obtained on all technical data in this Service Bulletin that affects type design.
4. PURPOSE
On affected aircraft, cracking may occur on intercooler flanges due to normal engine vibrations. Installation
of stiffeners may prevent cracking by strengthening flanges.
5. DESCRIPTION
This Service Bulletin contains instructions for the accomplishment of intercooler flange stiffener installation.
6. WARRANTY INFORMATION
For aircraft under warranty at the issue date of this Service Bulletin, Cirrus will cover all parts and labor
costs for this Service Bulletin if the work is accomplished within the Compliance time period and the work is
performed at an Authorized Cirrus Service Center.
7. MANPOWER REQUIREMENTS
0.5 man-hour

11. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
A. Remove key from ignition.
B. Set BAT1, BAT2, and AVIONICS switches to OFF positions.
C. Remove engine cowling. (Refer to AMM 71-10)
D. Install intercooler flange stiffeners.

On LH side, remove inboard and outboard screws and washers securing intercooler to engine
baffling. Discard screws. Retain washers.
Position (item 2) to LH inboard intercooler flange and secure with screws (item 3) and washers.
Position (item 1) to LH outboard intercooler flange and secure with screws (item 3) and washers.
On RH side, remove outboard screws and washers securing intercooler to engine baffling. Discard screws. Retain washers.
Position (item 1) to RH outboard intercooler flange and secure with screws (item 3) and washers.
E. Install engine cowling. (Refer to AMM 71-10)
F.
Complete airplane records by noting compliance with SB2X-71-25 in Aircraft Logbook.
