• World War 2 has now ended.
• But now, United States and Soviet Union
engage in a 45 year “Cold War”
• Cold War – because of Nuclear weapons, the
two Superpowers never confronted each other
directly in open warfare.
Why don’t the United States and
Soviet Union get along???
• Both countries had different philosophies
• United States want to spread democracy and
free enterprise
• Soviet Union wanted to spread Communism.
• Both countries clash after World War 2 and
the Cold war Begins. (International phase)
