DIRECTIONS TO THE
CANTERBURY CAMPUS
From Canterbury bus station to the campus
From the West and South-West (via M25
anticlockwise): At M25 junction 5 continue ahead on
M26(M20) signposted Maidstone, leave M20 at
junction 7 signposted A249 Canterbury, join M2 at
junction 5 for Canterbury, leave M2 at junction 7
signposted A2 Canterbury. Follow signs to
Canterbury.

On arrival
Car parking
Please park in the visitors’ car park on Giles Lane
or, if full, the overspill car park on Park Wood Road.
Disabled visitors may use car parks near to your
visit day location. Parking on campus is limited so
we advise visitors to travel by public transport
wherever possible.
There is a regular bus service to the University from
Canterbury bus station. Return tickets can be
bought on board the bus. The UNIBUS or the
Canterbury Triangle buses (4, 4A and 4B) run at 15
minute intervals and all stop at the University. Alight
at the bus turning circle adjacent to Keynes College.

Please display the enclosed parking permit
clearly in your windscreen when driving onto
campus. Vehicles displaying this parking permit
will be exempt from pay and display.
Returning to Canterbury bus station
The UNIBUS or the Canterbury Triangle buses (6, 6A
and 6B) return from the bus turning circle adjacent
to Keynes College to Canterbury bus station and run
at 15 minute intervals.

Road, Whitstable Road, University Road
From A2 westbound/A28: Wincheap, Rheims Way,
London Road, Whitstable Road, University Road
By car to Canterbury

Regular services run to Canterbury East and
Canterbury West train stations from London Victoria,
London Charing Cross, Waterloo East and London
Bridge and take approximately 90 minutes. Trains
from Ebbsfleet International take approximately 70
minutes to Canterbury East and 40 minutes to
Canterbury West. Trains from London St Pancras
direct to Canterbury West take 55 minutes.
Satellite Navigation: The University Road postcode
is CT2 7NP – on arrival, follow signs to the visitors’
car park on Giles Lane.
From London, the North and East Anglia (via M25
clockwise): Leave M25 at junction 2 signposted A2
Canterbury, continue on A2/M2, leave M2 at junction
7 signposted A2 Canterbury. Follow signs to
Canterbury.
By bus

From Canterbury East train station to the
campus
Regular services run from London Victoria coach
station to Canterbury bus station.
Turn right straight outside the station (do not cross
the bridge opposite the station) and follow the road
to the bus stop.

From Canterbury West train station to the
campus
Turn right out of the station entrance and walk along
Station Road West. Turn left into St Dunstan’s Street
and cross to the bus stop on the opposite side of
the road.
You can catch either the UNIBUS or the Canterbury
Triangle (4, 4A and 4B) from both stops. These buses
run at 15 minute intervals. Alight at the bus turning
circle adjacent to Keynes College. Map ref P6.

Take the underground to London Victoria railway
station, then the mainline train from Victoria to
Canterbury East station.
Take the Eurostar to Ashford International, then the
mainline train from Ashford to Canterbury West station.
From Belgium
From London (Gatwick)
Take the Gatwick Express to London Victoria railway
station, then the mainline train from Victoria to
Canterbury East station.
Take the Eurostar to Ebbsfleet International, then
the train from Ebbsfleet to Canterbury East or
Canterbury West stations.

to Keynes College to Canterbury bus station and run
at 15 minute intervals. There are request stops for
both train stations.

Refreshments
The Gulbenkian Café Bar is open for refreshments Monday – Friday
08.00-22.00. Opening times may vary at weekends and during
vacation. There are several other catering services on campus, in the
Colleges, Marlowe Building, Templeman Library, Park Wood, Sports
Centre and Sports Pavilion.
