Integers Integer – any whole number that is positive or negative and zero. Integers are used to describe real-life situations. Positive integers do not need a sign. +4 = 4 Negative integers MUST have a sign. -4 The further to the left on the number line, the LESS you have. Ex: -3 Try these. 8 -20 3 -3 means you owe 3; 3 means you have 3 So, having 3 is more than owing 3. < -37 4 0 -5 2 -12 Ordering Integers: You order integers based on their position on the number line.
