JOB DESCRIPTION
ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS AND DIGITAL MEDIA
The Associate Director of Communications and Digital Media is an integral staff member as this position will
serve as the coordinating producer of the conference’s streaming video network and will create and manage
digital media initiatives on wccsports.com. This position will also serve as the primary media contact for four
WCC sports.
This is an exempt position reporting to the Associate Commissioner for External Relations. This position will
require some nights and weekends.
General responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Digital Media
• Coordinating producer of “wcctv.com” (conference’s video streaming program with live championship
events, features, monthly show, etc.)
• Stream video of WCC championship events (those not televised, and if possible, to stream from site).
• Work with CSTV to maintain up-to-date information and special features such as “tournament central”
pages, feature stories, and interactive media.
• Obtain video from WCC member schools and media partners
• Produce coach and player features and highlight packages for wccsports.com.
• Add video components to WCC website whenever possible.
• Identify media and exposure opportunities for the WCC through blogs and networking sites.
Communications
• Day-to-day media relations contact for men’s soccer, women’s basketball, and men’s and women’s
tennis.
• Write/edit press releases for assigned sports, including weekly updates, all-conference releases, and
preseason previews.
• Establish and maintain contacts with local and national media members and outlets.
• Help coordinate the WCC media relations efforts with Director of Communications and
Communications Assistant for the WCC men’s and women’s basketball tournament, including the
media teleconference process, press conference moderation, all-tournament team selection,
credentialing, and media workroom coordination.
• Compile support information for conference programs worthy of NCAA Tournament consideration,
while keeping regional advisory and national committee members informed on conference
developments.
• Work with conference coaches to facilitate the WCC all-conference and WCC all-academic selection
process.
• Oversee production of the WCC All-Sports Media Guide and WCC Women’s Basketball Media Guide.

Produce conference statistics, and serve as the liaison to the NCAA for the women’s basketball statistics
program.
Collaborate on WCC championship programs with Director of Communications and Communications
assistant.
Travel to selected WCC Championships, and serve as the conference office representative at selected
NCAA championship events.
Qualifications
A minimum of two years experience in media relations or new media (website maintenance and/or streaming
video). Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office, Stat Crew Software and InDesign. Outstanding organizational and
communication skills. Bachelor’s Degree is required.
