HAMMURABI Registration year > 2016 NEW This is a completely new variety among einkorn wheats, from the point of view of genetics, of agronomy and of technology, owing to the following features: - Naked kernels; - Heavy weight of the nude seed; - Early earing and maturation. The feature “nakedness of seed” is very important in agronomy and technology, as it allows immediate use of the harvest, in order to the first industrial transformation (grinding) without the necessity of divesting the kernels. This allows obvious advantages as far as costs and eventual losses caused by breakage are concerned. This last aspect is of particular importance considering the extreme softness of the grain of Triticum monococcum. Triticum monococcum > Early cycle FEATURES // Low gluten index // Recommended for the production of highly digestible products // For the production of pasta, bread and beer // Suitable for the whole of Italy SOWING Ears: medium Awn: present Size (plant’s height): 105-115 cm Cultivation: medium-high Cold: average resistance Drought: resistant Habitus: rotation Lodging: resistant Oidium: good resistance Leaf rust: average resistance Stipe rust: average resistance Fusarium: average resistance Septoria: average resistance Caries: resistant 1.000 seeds weight: 30-35 gr Test weight: 75-78 Proteins: 17-20% Hardness: Super soft W: 11 Gluten index: 5 October November December January February North Italy 350-400 400-500 450-500 500-550 - Centre Italy 370-420 420-520 520-550 520-550 - South Italy 350-400 400-500 500-550 500-550 - Seeds germinate/m2 The density of sowing set out in the table above is indicative; for more detailed information visit www.agroservicespa.it 52 Low gluten index // WHAT’S UP ABOUT HAMMURABI 53
