1
Jacob continued his journey
and arrived Haran.
Uncle Laban welcomed Jacob.
Jacob told him the whole story of his journey.
Jacob had nothing but a stick,
but his eyes were bright.
Laban decided to allow Jacob
to work there.
2
Laban had two daughters, Leah and Rachel.
Jacob loved Rachel, so asked Laban to allow him to marry her.
Laban gave him condition to work 7 years for him.
Jacob worked very hard for the marriage with Rachel.
3
Time flies so fast and 7 years had passed.
But Laban broke his promises and gave Leah for marriage, not Rachel.
“In this country, elder sister has to be married before younger sister.”
Goats and sheep increased with Jacobs hard work,
so Laban tried to make Jacob work more for him.
“I will give you Rachel, but you have to work more 7 years.”
4
Jacob family was blessed with 11 children.
Jacob said to Laban,
“It is the time for me to go back to my homeland Canaan.”
5
With the effort of Jacob, Laban’s
property was increased.
So Laban tried to keep Jacob longer.
“I will share property for you
before going back to homeland,
so you have to work more 7 years.”
“I will give you goat and sheep
with spot.”
6
Jacob had a knowledge to increase goats and sheep with spot.
God blessed Jacob, so Jacob’s property increased a lot.
7
21 years have passed since Jacob came to Haran.
Jacob departed for his homeland Canaan with his family and property.
Laban chased him,
because he thought Jacob robbed his property.
8
Jacob said to him.
“I worked 14 years for you 2 daughters,7 years for your property.
But you cheated me 10 times.
Is there anything that belongs to you?”
Laban could not say anything and just saw him off.
9
In Canaan, elder brother Esau was
waiting for Jacob to kill him.
“God, I had nothing but a stick,
but you blessed me to have 2 lots of property.
Please protect me from my elder brother Esau.”
10
Jacob sent his servants to Esau to bring presents.
The servants said,
“These are presents to our lord Esau from your servant Jacob.
He is coming up to you after us.”
11
The previous night to meet with Esau, an Angel came to him and wrestled with him.
Angel could not beat him, so touched Jacob’s hip to put it out.
Jacob did not give up and said,
“Until you give me blessing, I never give up even I would die.”
At last, Angel gave up and said,
“From now, you use the name Israel, because you beat Angel.”
12
Esau, who received presents from Jacob, went out to meet with Jacob.
At first, Jacob’s children bowed to Esau.
Then Leah and Rachel bowed to him, and finally Jacob bowed 7 times.
The Esau’s long lasting malice to Jacob disappeared droved away.
13
Esau run up to Jacob and held him, and kissed him.
Esau and Jacob could not stop tear.
Jacob got the total victory.
