Moses continues his discourse with a continuing
sermon to his people, that they should be mindful of
the law, be careful in their dealings with one
another, and maintain a faith in the G-d of their
fathers.
Moshe “sees” the future of this people who he led
from slavery to the cusp of their freedom and taking
from what Moshe has said over these past weeks he
is fearful for them. It is a fear founded in them
losing what they should cherish most – that while
achieving a kingdom on this earth, they will sacrifice
and lose their heavenly one.
In truth, it is a warning not only to them but also to
us, their children.
