Rubber bonded cork
For petroleum products
MATERIAL DESCRIPTION:
Manufactured from fine-granulated cork bonded with NBR rubber which combines the fine elasticity of the cork with the strength and the sealing
properties of the NBR rubber. This quality has maximum resistance against swelling in oil or petrol etc., but should not be used at very low temperatures.
The gasket must not be compressed by more than 30%.
APPLICATIONS:
Water, alcohol, aromatic hydrocarbons, petrol, heating oil, ester-based lubricants, paraffin, mineral oil, petroleum, jet fuel plus other media.
For example, for flanges, lids, covers, such as petrol gauges, combustion engines, oil flanges, refineries, tank installations, transformers, crankcase covers
etc.
Rubber bonded cork is unsuitable for acids, alkalis or oxidizing solutions. Used primarily for non-pressure applications.
Recommended flange surface finish:
Ra 3.2 - 12.5 µm.
