The girls choose a mate with the brightest blue feet so that their children will also have bright blue feet. One snowy owl eats more then 1500 lemmings each year and swallows them whole. In the u.s.a. people think owls are wise, in other countries people think owls mean bad luck stealing souls. The Spotted Salamander by Jane If I lose my tail it grows back. I'm black and yellow. I eat little bugs and my belly is gray and pink . The Tarantula by Julia A tarantula's bite is not harmful to people. Tarantulas can regrow lost legs. After a large meal a tarantula may not need to eat for a month. The Crocodile by Ken Crocodiles lived before dinosaurs. Crocodiles have the biggest brain of all reptiles. Crocodiles can live to be 100 years old. Crocodiles have the strongest jaw of all animals. Pileated Wood Peckers By Laura Baby pileated wood peckers can fly when they are one month old. Pileated wood peckers love to eat carpenter ants. There are 200 kinds of pileated wood peckers in the world. American Bullfrog By Nealon A bullfrog can jump as high as six feet! The scientific name of a bullfrog is rana catesbieana. Bullfrogs are usually shades of green and brown blotches and a light colored underside. The Clown Fish By Oren It lays 100 to 1000 eggs. It has a nest. If an enemy sucks it in the clown fish will be ok. The Bald Eagle By Prithwija A Bald Eagle has 8 feet wing span. A Bald Eagle can see 10,000 miles away. Bald Eagles use their wings to swim back to shore while holding fish in their talons. The Scorpion By Rocco I glow in the dark. I can breath under water and on land. I lived before the age of the dinosaurs. The Wood Frog By Sarah A female wood frog lays up to 3000 eggs at a time. In the winter the water in their bodies turns to ice crystals. The wood frog is the only frog found in the north of the arctic circle. Flamingos by Sophie Baby flamingos are white when they are born. Flamingos eat upside down.
