2017 offers another exciting year of racing
at Wetherby Racecourse and is the year we
will officially open our new Millennium Stand
extension, providing bars and facilities
for racegoers in both our Paddock and
Premier Enclosures.
Experience the thrill and endurance of the
Steeplechase or revel in the grace and speed of
the Sprint. With a choice of 20 great racedays
on offer between January to December, you are
guaranteed a fantastic day out with family and
friends whichever day you attend.

You will find information for all of our 2017 fixtures within this brochure,
and while every day at Wetherby Racecourse provides an exciting day out,
we believe some of our fixtures offer that little bit extra. It’s not a Yorkshire Christmas
without racing at Wetherby….
The highlights in Wetherby’s fixture list come late in the calendar year,
but they are well worth waiting for! The Premier Enclosure, Restaurants and Hospitality Suites will all sell out
on these days so we advise you book early to avoid disappointment.
The bet365
Charlie Hall Meeting
Friday 3rd & Saturday 4th November 2017
This meeting is a significant highlight in the National Hunt Calendar, and
offers a quality two-day programme featuring two listed races
on the Friday and the Grade 2 bet365 Hurdle and the £100,000 bet365
Charlie Hall Steeplechase on the Saturday.
Widely acknowledged as one of the most important and influential trials for
top-quality chasers as they set out on the long roads to
the Cheltenham and Grand National Festivals.
Previous winners of this race include Silviniaco Conti, Menorah & Cue Card.
The 2016 renewal was won by the Rebecca Curtis trained Irish Cavalier.

Enclosures
and Admissions
Wetherby Racecourse offers racegoers a choice of enclosures, each
offering something different, but all offer facilities for the disabled,
tote betting and bookmakers, race programme sales and refreshments.
A large screen that can be viewed from all enclosures is on-site for
every race fixture. Please note that there is limited seating in all
enclosures, offered on a first-come basis. Seating cannot be reserved
unless you have booked our restaurant or hospitality facilities.

New for 2017!
Built across three floors the new grandstand
offers something for everyone!
Our new Millennium Stand
extension started in June 2016 and
is due to finish in early May 2017
and will provide additional facilities
for Owners and Trainers, and to
racegoers in both our Paddock and
Premier Enclosures.
Level 1: Classified as a part of the Paddock Enclosure,
this area will include two bars and fixed odds and pool
betting facilities for all of our racegoers. With a small
outside seating terrace and access out onto the
book-maker’s concourse.
Officially the Grandstand will open
for the start of our Jump Season in
October, however if the schedule
allows, we would love to let you
have a sneak preview at one of our
late May or June fixtures. Watch
this space!
We are also in the process of
installing a 100mb dedicated
fibre Wifi line across the entire
racecourse, so all of our racegoers
will have access to internet services
on racedays.

Level 2: An exclusive bar and bistro for
Owners & Trainers, offering both trackside and parade
ring viewing.
Level 3: Offering similar viewing to our middle floor,
this is a new bar facility which on our Feature and
Feature Plus racedays will have limited access available,
but on the majority of our standard racedays will be fully
available to all Premier and Annual Badge holders.

Premier Enclosure
Premier Enclosure Badges offer racegoers access
to the spectacular Wetherby Millennium Stand,
which provides two bars, an a La Carte restaurant
and covered seating in the grandstand directly
opposite the winning post. Hot drinks and snacks
are available within both bar areas.
Course Enclosure
From October 2017, a new Premier bar facility will
be available on Feature and Feature Plus racedays
on a pre-booked package basis – please see the
website for information later in the year.
Situated in the centre of the racecourse, the Course Enclosure
offers a great day out for those racegoers with limited budgets.
It offers views of the final furlong as well as basic catering, toilet
and betting facilities.
Premier Enclosure badges also allow access to
the facilities within both the Paddock and Course
Enclosures.
Access to the Course Enclosure is either via the turnstiles or
those Racegoers who want to take their cars close to the action
can do so by coming in through the “Cars-to-Course” entrance
and parking in the centre of course car park.

Paddock Enclosure
Paddock Enclosure racegoers can enjoy the racing
action from either the covered Bramham Stand or
they can get even closer to the action, by the last
fence in the home straight. The Bramham Hall and
Paddock Bar offer warm inside areas to eat, drink
and place bets. On our Feature Plus racedays,
additional marquee facilities are also provided.
The Paddock offers a wide range of mobile units
offering hot drinks, snacks and fast food. From
October 2017, the ground floor bars within the new
Millennium Stand extension will also be available
for all of our racegoers to utilise.

Early Bird and Group
Booking discounts
Why not save money and time with an early bird
booking? Your tickets will be sent to you in the post so
you can avoid queuing on the day. You also guarantee
your choice of admission, which may not always
be available at the turnstiles. Premier
admissions do sell out in advance
on our Feature Plus racedays.
We offer early bird and group
discounts of up to 20% on purchases
of general admissions into either the
Premier or Paddock Enclosures. Our
best discounts close at least 14 days
prior to the raceday, when they are
replaced by a standard £1 discount,
which means you will always save
money when booking in advance.

Our ‘Pick of’ packages, are available to advance order on
most of our racedays. They include discounted admission
plus a racecard, refreshment and tote betting vouchers.
These packages cannot be purchased at the turnstiles on
the day of racing and they do not attract further early bird

If you intend to be a regular visitor to Wetherby Racecourse,
then one of our Annual Badge Holder packages could provide
you with a huge saving on the cost of daily admission.
On average, the daily cost of admission for Annual
Badge Holders is less than one third of the cost of
our standard Premier Enclosure admission price
and includes access to all general Premier and
Paddock Enclosure facilities, a race programme
and the use of a private facility within the Premier
Enclosure.
Additional to this is the opportunity to attend
40 reciprocal race meetings at Racecourses
across the UK between October and August and
attendance at selected Yorkshire County Cricket
Fixtures during the summer.
Our Annual Badge packages include badges for
Single, Joint, Guest and 18-24 year olds, so there
really is something for everyone.
Annual Badges are issued at the start of the
racing season in October and are valid for

Fine Dining
White Rose Restaurant
Dine & View Restaurant
Wetherby Racecourse’s White Rose Restaurant offers an a La Carte menu,
fine food and excellent value for money. Situated on Level 3 of the Wetherby
Millennium Stand, within our Premier Enclosure, the restaurant overlooks
the Paddock Enclosure.
A Dine & View package is an excellent alternative to the larger private suites,
offering a private balcony and panoramic views of the Racecourse. The Dine &
View Restaurant is a shared facility located on the upper floors of the Wetherby
Millennium Stand. Private tables are available for parties of 2-12 guests.
On standard and feature racedays, the White Rose Restaurant offers tables on
a walk-in basis however for larger parties or for those wishing to guarantee
their table, we recommend that you pre-book on a ‘Day Reservation’ basis,
at a cost of £5 per person. Your table is then reserved for the duration of the
raceday for you to come and go as you please.

ABANDONMENT
CASH MACHINE
DISABLED RACEGOERS
As a racecourse which mainly
operates throughout the Winter
months, Wetherby fully appreciates
the risk that the weather can
occasionally pose to a race
meeting.
Cash Machines are located within the
following locations:
If a disability requires a racegoer
to be accompanied to, and at the
races, by a registered carer, one
complimentary admission will
be provided for the carer at the
entrance on the day. Facilities for
the disabled racegoers are provided
in all of our Enclosures.
Therefore, the Company believes it
is fair to everybody concerned that,
with respect to general admission
charges, a clear abandonment
policy is adopted. The Wetherby
Steeplechase Committee Limited
abandonment charges are as
follows:
• Before the 1st race – Full Refund
• Before the 3rd race – 50%
Refund
• After the 3rd race – No Refund
In the event of abandonment once
gates have opened, no refunds
will be issued on the day. Please
retain your tickets and badges.

CAMERAS
Amateur photography is permitted
on the Racecourse in all areas
open to the general public. Flash
photography is not permitted in any
circumstances.
CHILDREN
All children aged 17 years of age
and under must be accompanied
by an adult and are admitted FREE
to all Enclosures. Tickets or badges
are not required. Proof of age may
be requested.
Additional entertainment is provided
at selected fixtures throughout
the season. Please contact the
Racecourse office for more
information.

There is no cash machine facility
within the Course Enclosure. Tote
betting kiosks offer a ‘Cash Back’
facility.
CAR PARKING
Car parking is provided within the
Racecourse grounds and is FREE
of charge. Directional parking signage
is displayed and car park attendants
are on hand to assist you. Racegoers
can also pay to park in the centre
of our course. Our ‘Cars to Course’
admission allows one car and up to
4 adults entry to the Course
Enclosure.
COACH PARKING
Parking for coaches is FREE and
provided within the Racecourse
grounds. Complimentary Paddock
admission will be provided for drivers
who present their Manifest to the
main turnstile. (One admission per
coach).
CONCESSIONS
Students receive a £5 discount
into the Paddock Enclosure on
presentation of a valid photographic
ID card.
Racegoers aged 65 and over receive
a £5 discount into the Paddock
Enclosure or a £3 discount into
Course Enclosure. Proof of age may
be requested.
These concessions are only available
at the turnstiles on the day of racing.
DRESS CODE
Wetherby does not operate a
formal dress code in any of the
Enclosures. Racegoers who wish to
use the Premier Enclosure are kindly
requested to wear smart casual
clothing.
EARLY BIRD DISCOUNTS
Are offered on advance and group
purchases for Premier or Paddock
Enclosure admissions. The best
discounts are offered on-line and
close at least 14 days prior to each
race fixture. Discount close dates
are published on the website,
please check in advance to ensure
you do not miss them. Discounts
are not applicable to Special Offer
or ‘Pick of’ Packages.
SHUTTLE BUS
For many of our busier meetings
a FREE shuttle bus service is
operated before and after racing,
between Wetherby Town Centre
and the Racecourse. Visit the
website for dates and timings.
OPENING TIMES
For the majority of our fixtures,
the gates and all facilities open
2 ½ hrs in advance of the first race.
However, we may open earlier for
busy fixtures. Opening times can
be viewed on our website.
DOGS
Dogs (except registered guide
dogs) are not allowed into any
of our Enclosures on racedays.
PICNICS
Racegoers are welcome to bring
picnics into any of our car parks
including the Cars to Course car
park. No food or drink is permitted
into any of the Enclosures.
