This Popular Selection List, 2009 Edition replaces all editions previously published by The Frederick Harris Music Co., Limited. The Popular Selection List is a compilation of non‑classical pieces, carefully selected to suit each grade level. Candidates in Grades 3 to 9 have the option of substituting a piece chosen from the Popular Selection List for one study in their grade. Candidates should consult the Piano Syllabus, 2008 Edition for detailed information on substitution policies. Candidates do not need prior approval from RCM Examinations to use a piece from the Popular Selection List as a substitute for one of the studies from the same grade. Each piece has musical value, containing rhythmic or technical challenges pertinent to the grade level for which it has been selected. The required edition is clearly identified. These editions have been chosen for their quality for the purposes of examinations to ensure the appropriate arrangement for each grade. Different editions of the same work will not be accepted.
