PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
BATTLEFIELD HEALTH AND TRAUMA CENTER AT FORT SAM HOUSTON, TEXAS
This project includes a new 145,515 SF biomedical research building with BSL-2 laboratory,
vivarium and vivarium support facilities. Components of the project included new construction
adjacent to the existing Institute of Surgical Research (ISR) facility of approximately 103,600
SF to house BSL-2 laboratories, support, administrative offices and office support space. The
research center integrates all Defense Department combat casualty care research missions and
functions in a multi-service, synergistic research facility with a clinic foundation.
FORMER FORT ORD MILITARY RESERVATION, FORT ORD, CALIFORNIA
We are providing removal actions and investigation for this $52 million Task Order (TO) to
support the USACE. Work includes Munitions and Explosives of Concern (MEC) removal and
soil remediation. This TO illustrates how our team delivers rapid response removal actions at
Superfund, hazardous, toxic, former munitions, and radioactive waste sites, including DoD and
DoE installations worldwide.
POL-E CHARKI EXPANSION OF DETENTION FACILITY, KABUL, AFGHANISTAN
The project recently achieved one million safe man-hours of work for executing design and
construction efforts on the $66.5 million Pol-E Charki Expansion Project in Kabul, Afghanistan.
The expansion to the Afghan National Detention Facility at Pol-E Charki Prison will add over 50
new buildings and over 29,000 square meters of space (312,000 square feet). The Pol-E Charki
Prison is the largest prison in Afghanistan, located approximately 10 miles outside the Kabul City
Center and the Kabul International Airport.
TSUNAMI EMERGENCY PIPELINE REPAIRS, DFSP HACHINOHE, JAPAN
The project was mobilized at Defense Fuel Support Point (DFSP) Hakozaki when the Pacific coast
of Tōhoku was devastated by a 9.1-magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami. Japan’s
Hachinohe Terminal sustained heavy damage, preventing fuel transfers to Misawa Air Base (AB)
and hampering emergency and relief operations. Tasked by the U.S. Navy, the team performed
emergency post-tsunami API 653 and API 570 inspections of Hachinohe Terminal, including fuel
transfer piping, connections, and supports; storage tanks; and electrical components.
