About The Preserve
Enjoy Natural Habitats
Otis & Anita Felts left this
27-acre parcel to the
Manatee County Audubon
Society when he passed
away in 2002. His dream
was to keep the land natural. Now our dream is to
use this property as an
environmental educational
center for people of all
ages, seasonal visitors and
year round residents.
As land in southwest
Florida is rapidly consumed by development, Felts
Audubon Preserve is being used to benefit wildlife.
Returning the land to a more natural condition using
a long-term management plan is our goal.
Membership
Membership in the Manatee

conservation and wildlife,
especially birds and their
habitat. Annual membership
Otis & Anita Felts (1995)
While we come up with innovative ways to provide
opportunities to educate the public on environmental issues, the land is being used by an abundance of different animals including many migratory
birds. As of December 2011, we have documented
158 avian species and 33 butterfly species at the
Felts Audubon Preserve!
Teach kids about
nature, stroll
through the
forested area, take
photos and simply
commune with
nature.
