JUDY LOWE WELCOMES OUR NEXT PRESIDENT TO NORTH CAROLINA!
Judy Lowe was one of many NC Democrats who greeted Secretary Hillary Clinton when she
arrived at Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh on September 27th.
Our next President may not have known it, but she was shaking hands with a Democratic star.
Since she moved to Fayetteville in 1984, Judy Lowe has been deeply involved in the Party.
She worked on the campaigns of Walter Mondale, Harvey Gantt, Eva Clayton,
President Clinton, and both of Secretary Clinton’s campaigns. She was a staff member in the
Fayetteville office of Congresswoman Eva Clayton. She had been a member of the SEC for five
years, has served as a Precinct Chair and she is an active member of the
Democratic Women and the Senior Democrats.

TOM MACON – After Tom retired from a federal job in 2005 he immediately got involved
in the Democratic Party. During the time since he has served as County Chair (one year),
County Party Treasurer (5 years), Precinct Chair for 8 years, SEC Member for 10 years,
member of the 8th Congressional District Party Executive Committee (4 years),
member of the NCDP Plan of Organization Committee (2 years),
and NC Senior Dems Representative to the 2 nd Congressional District for 4 years.
He is currently Vice President of the Senior Democrats of North Carolina.
He has worked in many campaigns including the Clinton campaigns of 2008 and 2016.
DEBBIE LIEBERS – Debbie began her Party career in the 1990s and has worked on many
campaigns since. She was County Co-Chair for President Clinton in 1996 and
County Co-Chair for Hillary Clinton in 2008. She has been a SEC Member for 10 years.
Debbie has been an activist for peace, racial justice, and social justice since the 1960s.
She was a proud Moral Monday arrestee on June 17, 2013.
Debbie says: “I was born a Liberal Democrat and NEVER have I been anything
but a Liberal Democrat.” On her answering machine she says: “Remember that it’s a good day
to be a Democrat and pray for peace.
PAMELA WADE – Pam has been on the SEC for five years. She is currently
First Vice President of the Democratic Women of Cumberland County.
She has served as Secretary of the Cumberland Democratic Party
and Secretary of the Cumberland Democratic Women.
She has been 2nd and 3rd Vice President of the Cumberland Senior Democrats.

“PISTOL” IS DUPLIN COUNTY’S TOP FUNDRAISER
FOR THE 14TH CONSECUTIVE YEAR!
For the 14th consecutive year Edward “Pistol” Allen was recognized as the
top Democratic Fundraiser in Duplin County
at the Duplin Democratic meeting on September 26 th.
Mr. Allen (in the red shirt) loves the Party and loves to raise money.
Every year since 1978 the Duplin Party has sold Raffle Tickets for a drawing
for a $100.00 Shopping Spree.
When Pistol goes to see people about donation, they know they may as well
pull out their checkbooks because he is not going to leave without getting a donation.
His wife, Estella Allen, is also a dedicated Democrat who
promotes the Party in every way.
Here is what is so amazing: Pistol Allen is 84 years old! His fundraising surpasses the
efforts of younger people. He is one of the first five people that every Democratic candidate
goes to see when they are thinking about running for public office in Duplin County.

were the Keynote Speakers at the Sampson Democratic Party’s 2016 Fall Rally in Clinton.
County Chair Tomeka Blue is the third lady from the right. She congratulated Sampson

WILSON FLING – A HAPPY SUCCESS!
Our excellent candidate for the State Supreme Court, Judge Mike Morgan gave an inspiring
and inspirational Keynote Speech at the Wilson Fling on September 29 th.
In the picture on the right, two of North Carolina’s all-time greatest Democrats, Governor
Jim Hunt and Angie Elkins of Durham, were smiling joyfully at the Fling. Angie served as President
of the National Federation of Democratic Women a few years ago and she is still an enthusiastic
Democrat.
Governor Hunt is traveling all over the state to promote Democratic victories in 2016. He
was especially happy to attend this big political event in his home county.
Betty McCain who was the first woman to serve as NCDP State Chair is now the Chair of
the Wilson County Democratic Party. She and her leadership team had the event organized to

Dr. Amalendu Chatterjee for a fundraising reception for Roy and Kristen Cooper.

Secretary of State Elaine Marshall gave a big boost to Gil Johnson’s campaign for
the State Senate at a fundraising event on October 2nd.
His district is made up of Franklin County and part of Wake County.
Gil has been a Member of the Franklin County School Board for 12 years
and he is working very hard on his Senate race.
Franklin County’s student achievement scores are on the rise

JUDGE VINCE ROZIER’S 40TH BIRTHDAY PARTY!
Judge Vince Rozier, Jr. is one of the most popular candidates in the entire state. On
October 2nd many of his supporters and relatives gathered to celebrate his 40 th Birthday. (This
gentleman has been a Judge since he was 29!)
In the picture above his cousin Brandon Coleman and his wife, Dekhasta, are getting ready
to sing “Happy Birthday” to him. Mrs. Rozier is an attorney.
Judge Rozier’s parents, Lynne and Vince Rozier, Sr. came to Raleigh to celebrate their son’s
big day. Mr. and Mrs. Rozier have been very prominent civic leaders
in Bladen County for many years.
Mr. Rozier has been an outstanding Member of the Bladen County
Board of Education for 16 years.

HALIFAX COUNTY DEMOCRATIC WOMEN!
A large group of Halifax Democratic Women turned out to hears talks by local and
statewide candidates at the organization’s September 27th meeting in Roanoke Rapids.
Club President Sandra Bryant (in center) welcomed Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin,
Senator Angela Bryant, Agricultural Commissioner candidate Walter Smith,
and State Representative Michael Wray.
President Sandra Bryant is the sister of Charlotte Police Chief Kerr Putney
and her husband is Vernon Bryant, Chair of the Halifax Board of County Commissioners.
These Halifax DW Members are Nina Hines, Gartred Clements,
Dianne Zucker and Sue Wage.
Among the crowd of over 100 attendees were these DW members:
Marilyn Harris, a visitor from Northampton County, Laura Buffaloe, Jackie Ruffin-Pittman,
Mary-Frances Fisher, Janice Burroughs, President Sandra Bryant, and Sue Wage.
Laura Buffaloe is a former member of the UNC Board of Governors.
Mary-Frances Fisher is the daughter of Senator Julian R. Allsbrook, a strong Democrat
whose service in the legislature spanned an almost 50-year period from 1935 to 1983.
She served on the Roanoke Rapids Graded School District Board.

JUDGE MIKE MORGAN KEYNOTES CATAWBA COUNTY DINNER!
On an earlier page it was stated that Judge Mike Morgan is going everywhere. On
September 27th, this outstanding jurist was the Keynote Speaker at the Catawba County
Democratic Party Century Club Dinner at the Crowne Plaza in Hickory. The Rev. Marcus Williams
is Chair of the Catawba County Party.
Judge Morgan gave a rousing speech highlighting the differences between the Republican
“take us backward” and the Democratic “move NC forward again” visions for our state. About 100
Catawba Democrats cheered Judge Morgan throughout his speech.

ASIAN AMERICAN PACIFIC ISLANDER CAUCUS MEETS IN RALEIGH!
The AAPI of the NCDP held a meeting at the home of Dr. Niv Biswas on October 2 nd. It was
well attended by 15 AAPI members and several candidates. They discussed the AAPI Victory Fund
and made plans to hold a big AAPI Rally at the end of October with some AAPI celebrities
from the movie industry! AAPI President Dr. Grace Galloway is in the center on the front row.
