Cell Theory Time-Line Project
Purpose: Use your textbook and the Internet to research information about the discoveries
that led up to the development of the cell theory and create a time-line. Your time-line must be
a visual display at least ½ the size of a large poster board (about 18”-24”).
Criteria (rubric on back):

There are six scientists that are discussed in your book that must be included. See
attached rubric. You may include additional scientists that you learn about as you
research for extra credit. Include the following information for each scientist:
1. Scientist Name
2. Appropriate illustration for each scientist
3. Nationality
4. Occupation
5. A description of his work, findings, discovery, and/or contributions to the
development of the cell theory
6. Date of discovery (year)

Summary of the cell theory – all written material on your poster must be put on a word
document and submitted to Turn-it-in on Blackboard
