kid-friendly fundraising ideas
Inspire young volunteers to use their hearts, hands and voices for good through these
fundraising ideas. Be creative! Give these events fun, catchy themes to capture young energy
and promote our cause of building strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.
Coin drive
Coloring contest
Kids encourage donors to add coins to labeled
containers during a specific time frame. A prize can
be provided to the student or student group who
collects the most money.
Have participants display their Habitat-focused
artwork and collect $1 votes to determine the winners.
Penny wars
Teams compete by filling decorated jars with
pennies, scoring one point for each penny in the jar.
Teams can deduct points from their competitors by
putting other coins or bills into their competitors’ jars.
The team with the highest point total wins.
Small building projects
Kids put their artistic skills to use with hands-on
building projects — birdhouses, flower boxes, key
chains, picture frames — that can be made with
scraps from the work site and sold for donations.
Greeting card fundraiser
Kids can design special greeting cards and use their
art to express to others why housing is important.
Cards can be sold for donations. A kit is available by
clicking here.
Lego build
TM
Give Legos out to different groups and have each
group build a house. Display the houses, and have
