On Saturday afternoon the Academy received its fourth set of results for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The Hazeley Academy are the only Sixth Form in Milton Keynes, and indeed the locality, to offer this prestigious globally recognised qualification and route for students between GCSE’s and University. Once again our students and teachers have produced some remarkable outcomes. From our largest cohort of students ever on the IBDP we have secured the following headline successes: 80% of Hazeley’s IBDP cohort achieved the Diploma on their first attempt. This exceeds the international average for this academic year where the competition from international, private and grammar schools is, as one would expect, very fierce. Two-thirds of our IBDP students secured 30 points or more, many far above the international average of 29 points. A score of 30 points alone is equivalent to 392 UCAS tariff points. If these students had taken A-Levels this score would have been equivalent to three A grades in order to achieve 360 UCAS tariff points with at least one A* to come close to an IBDP score of 30 points. Five students – Haydn Abbott, Kim Bannister, Sharla Bennison, Soul Hales & Paul Dulliu scored 35 points or more. This is equivalent to 501 UCAS points or four A-Level grades of an A with at least one at A*. The Academy’s highest scoring student – Paul Dulliu – achieved an equivalent of four A-Level grades – all at A*!!! An absolutely phenomenal result from a tenacious and gifted individual. After scoring top marks in his IB Economics & Spanish exams, Paul is now embarking on his undergraduate studies in Law at the University of Nottingham. We are very proud of our IBDP student cohort this year. They have worked extremely hard to achieve these outcomes and have been supported by an ever increasing expertise in delivering this globally recognised qualification. Well done to them all!
