„Zegary”
(“Clocks”)
after „Żądze” (“Desires”, 2008) and „Lustra” (“Mirrors”, 2009), is the next work drawing on piano’s
achievements of the composer. Themes, full of sensuality and mystery, have been transformed into a
symphonic language by pianist and arranger Ireneusz Boczek.
Theme of passing time has been expressed by the composer in several parts of unfettered formally, for
a large part of the instrumental. Constantly running time is never shown in the form of literally
ticking clock. Time in “Clocks” remains synonymous with the concept of permanently connected
with our lives like a shadow or a breath.
„Zegary” (“Clocks”) is a four-part form:
„Prelude” - short composition, based on themes with simple structure, which brings to mind our childhood‘s ticking
clock. Simple “Prelude” themes are characterized by a clear contrast between the melody.
„Fantazja” (“Fantasy”)- characterized by the complexity of the musical themes that could arouse associations with
Impressionism, Neoclassicism or film music. Composition
suggests kaleidoscopically changing growing-up person’s
point of view.
„Zegary” (“Clocks”) - In the first part, the lyrical, nocturnal mood is found, themes are calm and warm. In the second part
the mood is rapidly changed, referring to the Baroque period (unconventional melodic and instrumental solutions),
seen as if in a distorting mirror. Main theme is associated with sadness, nostalgia, at times, which revived memories of
the past.
„Ogrody Czasu” (“The gardens of time“) - This composition connects all parts of the work. Themes are full of irony,
arranged variationally. Reference to the “Prelude” is a return to the beginning of deliberations on time.
The program includes the following work:
Janusz Bielecki - “Clocks”, arranged by Ireneusz Boczek
Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov - Scheherazade
Performers:
Beethoven Academy Orchestra under the direction of Michał Nesterowicz

As in the earlier works, also “Secrets” draw on piano’s achievements of the composer. Musical themes which tell about
life and its intricacies, were presented in a symphonic arrangement of Ireneusz Boczek. The leitmotif of “Secrets” is life.
In the themes of the various parts, we find the fate of the man from his birth, after the youth, until at last the twilight
of life. In each part you can find a clear record of feelings, emotions and life experiences, clearly emphasised by the
composer as the main inspiration of his musical creativity.
“Secrets” is a three-part form:
1. „Życie” (“Life” )
2. „Sen” (“Dream”)
3. „Przebudzenie” (“Awakening” )
