1ST ANNUAL JIMMY DERRY MEMORIAL
SCHOLARSHIP GOLF TOURNAMENT
WHEN: SUNDAY, JUNE 18TH, 2017-12:30PM REGISTRATION -1:30PM START
WHERE: SHILOH SPRINGS GOLF COURSE (PLATTE CITY, MO)
COST: $200 PER TEAM ($50 PER PLAYER)
HOLE SPONSORSHIPS: $100.00
TOURNAMENT INFORMATION:
We will be hosting a four-man scramble golf tournament on Sunday, June 18 th at Shiloh Springs Golf Course in Platte
City, MO. Each team will consist of any four players. (If you do not have a team, we will place you with one.) No age
requirements will be enforced for tournament participants, we just ask a parent/guardian or parents/guardians
accompany those under the age of 18. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Jimmy Derry Memorial
Scholarship Fund (DeKalb High School Basketball Alumni Scholarship). Donations will also gladly be accepted.
TOURNAMENT DAY INFORMATION:
Registration will begin at 12:30pm, with the tournament consisting of a shotgun start at 1:30pm. We ask that
participants register as early as possible, to allow adequate time for tournament organization. Participants will be
expected to respect Shiloh Springs’ property during tournament play- those choosing to not do so, will be
asked to leave. This includes and not limited to, course etiquette. All participants are asked that proper golf
attire be worn. Food and snacks will be provided by tournament administrators. Food and drinks will also be
available for purchase through the Shiloh Springs Clubhouse Grill. Prizes will be awarded for various tournament
contests as well as winning teams from each flight. More information pertaining to prizes will be available the day of
the event.
TEAM/SCORING INFORMATION:
As mentioned above, teams will consist of any four players. Teams will need to have money and the entry form
completed at the time of registration. Play will take place in the scramble format, best ball being played. Double
bogey will be the highest score of any team, on any hole. Participants scorecards will be reviewed at the conclusion of
the tournament- to determine prizes and placings. (One scorecard will need to be submitted per team)

HOLE SPONSORSHIPS:
We are looking for businesses and individuals who would like to assist in helping make our tournament a success. For
a $100 donation, your business’ information or the donor’s name will be presented the day of the tournament at one of
the designated tee boxes. Sponsorship information along with business cards will be given to each individual player
the day of the tournament. Hole Sponsorship Forms and money will need to be collected no later than Wednesday,
June 7th, 2017. Hole Sponsorships are a great way of helping our organization.

TOURNAMENT PROCEEDS:
We are proud to be presenting this scholarship in memory of DeKalb High School Student-Athlete Alum Jimmy
Derry. Jimmy was a 2009 graduate of DeKalb High School, who was a successful, notable, respected, and proud
student-athlete. Jimmy was a leading member of the varsity football and basketball teams for 4 years. Jimmy excelled
in the classroom as well as on the field and court, all while maintaining the importance of being a positive leader.
Characteristics such as those mentioned, fabricate a model for what it means to be a student-athlete. Jimmy passed
away as a result of an automobile accident in 2012, but his hard work and dedication to his education and athletics are
still ever present today. We are pleased to present this scholarship to an individual who possess similar leadership
characteristics on and off the competitive field, in memory of DeKalb High School Alum- Jimmy Derry.
