Fruit Sorbet

INGREDIENTS
2 teaspoons ginger or lavender, minced (optional)
1/2 cup sugar
1 ¼ cup water, divided
4 cups strawberries, mangos or peaches, diced
DIRECTIONS
1. Place ice cream maker in freezer overnight
2. In a small saucepan, bring ginger, water and sugar to a boil. Reduce
to a simmer and continuously whisk until sugar has dissolved.
Remove from heat. Cool completely
3. In a blender, combine strawberries and 1/4 cup water. Blend until
smooth
4. Pour strawberry puree through a fine mesh strainer. Add cooled
simple syrup and mix well
5. Pour into a pitcher and refrigerate for about 45 minutes
6. Once the berry mixture is cool, pour it in the ice cream maker and
churn for about 20-30 minutes
7. Garnish with fresh strawberry slices
