Canefields paper is produced in an Elemental
Chlorine Free (ECF) Closed Loop Water
System. Process effluent (waste water) is
purified at the mill owned treatment facility
and reused for process water and to irrigate the
otherwise arid surrounding lands.
Canefields sugarcane paper is acid free for
archival quality. The paper will not yellow over
time in storage.
Canefields sugarcane paper manufacturing
facilities own and operate their own wind farm,
producing renewable, green energy for
production and energy supply to the grid.

Canefields manufacturing facilities make use of
the “pith” from the sugarcane bagasse for
energy. Pith is a contaminant that is removed
from the sugarcane fiber during the
papermaking process – this pith can be used to
generate green energy instead of relying on oil.
