FibreFab has manufacturing activities in Haverhill, UK; Baltimore,
USA; Dubai, UAE and Shenzhen, China. The company has both
volume and quick response manufacturing capabilities and is able
to support the global logistics requirements of its customers.
However, due to FibreFab’s rapid growth, the existing internet
connectivity was not sufficient to handle the high volume of data,
which includes manufacturing specifications, in a secure and
efficient manner between its manufacturing plant in Shenzhen,
China and the headquarters in Milton Keynes, UK. FibreFab
needed a Euro–Asia communication solution that could offer a
secure, reliable and low-latency connection to cater for their
communication needs between the UK and China to fuel its Asian
expansion.

China Telecom Solution
In 2009, FibreFab consulted China Telecom Europe (CTE) about
the needs for a secure connection with low latency to facilitate their
Asian expansion. Given CTE’s customer portfolios and capabilities,
FibreFab chose to take on CTE’s TEA IEPL service. Riding on
CTE’s Euro-Asia network, the IEPL network offers a secure
connection with a low latency of 220ms between FibreFab’s
manufacturing plant in Shenzhen, China and its headquarters in the
UK. This service was delivered on a Fast Ethernet bearer and port
giving FibreFab easy access to upgrade the connection in the
future. The project has been successfully operating since the
middle of 2010 with plans to enhance the existing capacity to
further support the company’s continuous growth.
