DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MOVE THE DESK It is connected to the wall with lots of cables How to use the AV Equipment in this room To turn the large flat screen on use the On button on the Display Control panel mounted on the wall. Then select a source. The Main PC button selects the built in PC. The Laptop/Doc Cam button toggles between the Visualiser and the laptop input. The Video button selects the composite video socket on the wall plate for connecting extra equipment. The Size button changes the aspect ratio of the picture, this is for the Visualiser and laptops. If your picture looks stretched push this button a few times and the picture will change in size. The inbuilt PC can be turned on before or after the large flat screen and is switched on using the button on the front of it. The built in PC requires a login. Aston Staff and Students will have a login, see ISA for help. Guest speakers should have been given a login by the school that booked them. The VGA and Audio leads for laptop connection are found near the telephone. For laptops it is advised to connect the VGA lead (and 3.5mm audio lead if required) then turn on the Visualiser and large flat screen and display the visualiser before switching on the laptop. Press the Laptop/Doc Cam button again so the screen goes black then turn on your laptop and turn off the Visualiser, unless you are going to use it. The volume buttons control the volume of the selected source. To turn the large flat screen off use the Off button on the Display Control. Don’t forget to shutdown the PC when finished.
