CHAIR’S CORNER
What a fabulous start to the season we've had with a fantastic turn out of members to the beach already. Firstly I would like to formally welcome Daniel Peacocke who has been employed for the summer as our club coach and is doing a fantastic
job getting our members keen and enthusiastic to train and enter competitions this season. Keep up the great work and I look forward to
seeing and hearing about the club results as the season progresses.
Also a huge thank you to Ruth Kingsford who has stepped in to help out in the office and with our club administration. This is an integral
part of our club and she is doing a great job of handling our day to day tasks.
Senior Club - Patrols are going strong with a good numbers each weekend. Many lifeguards have attended courses over the winter to up
skill and are raring to go. Our patrol captain's this year are James Lloyd, Christiaan Maarhius, Savannah Fuller, Travis McGeady / Dave
Grant and Seth Rackham. Please check when you are on duty. Remember if you are unable to attend your patrol that it is really important
and your responsibility to find a replacement and let your PC know.
Junior Club was all a buzz over Labour weekend for enrollments. It is so great to see a large number of familiar faces returning again this
year. The Junior's are certainly an important area for the club to nourish and grow into our future lifeguards. I'm sure they will have an
awesome year once again under the guidance of Jan De Faye With our club coach Dan in place this season alongside the hard work of Janine O Connor they both aim to lift Waihi's profile in the sports
arenas around the district. I encourage members to step up to the challenge and give competition a go this season it is a great way to meet
new people, bond with fellow clubbies, stay fit and have healthy fun. I look forward to tracking their successes. Congratulations to our successful members this month we have 6 newly qualified guards - Andrea Swanney, Gina Swanney Anna Swanney,

Technician with St John's.
Great to hear that Lochlainn O’Connor got the season off to a flying start for Waihi with his successes at the New Zealand Pool Champs.
Thanks for keeping the Waihi Flag flying proudly.
Good luck to all those guards sitting NCEA and University exams in November.
Next lifeguard camp and exam will be in December 19th - 22nd Dec please register interest through club office and we will be in touch soon
