The John Dickinson Middle Years Programme (MYP) will offer an immersion strand for students from Lewis Dual Language
Elementary who want to continue to learn in Spanish. The schedule will look as follows:

What is the Middle Years Programme?
John Dickinson High School has expanded its current International Baccalaureate program to include a middle school program.
Below, you will find a brief overview of what the program entails. For more information, please come to our Choice Open

The MYP at Dickinson is a selective enrollment magnet
program for 100 students in grades 6 through 8 (300) total.
○ The MYP continues through grade 10.
The MYP requires the study of at least two languages to
support students in understanding their own cultures and
those of others. Our students will study English and either
Spanish or French.
The MYP emphasizes intellectual challenge, while
encouraging students to make connections between their
learning and the outside world.
The MYP is geared toward motivated, hard-working and
involved students.

The MYP offers students an excellent curriculum and
approach to teaching and learning.
Student in the MYP are active participants in the learning
process.
The MYP provides preparation and access to the highly
reputable International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
(IBDP)
○ JDHS IBDP students, grades 11 and 12, are very
highly regarded by higher education institutions.
○ 50% of the first IBDP graduating class received full
scholarships to college.
The MYP empowers students to participate in service
within the community.
The MYP encourages students to become creative, critical
and reflective thinkers.
