Year 10 – Community involvement, justice and law
Students learn about authority. They will look at different types and sources of authority using images and
examples.
Students to learn about Civil and Criminal Law. Students complete activities based on the differences
between the two types of law. They will look at examples and scenarios to distinguish the difference.
Justice and Injustice. Students will Explore the differences between justice and injustice. They will look at
different cases and debate which were justice or injustice.
Human Rights. Students will investigate the Rights of a Child under the Human Rights Act. This will involve
establishing needs as a child and how that fits into the UN Convention rights of a Child.
Carrying on with Human Rights. Students will be looking into the Prisoners right to vote debate. Based on
different evidence they will decide if they think prisoners have the right to vote.
