Call ForEntries “PETITE MOMENTS” An International Juried Miniature Art Competition GALLERY 50, Inc. invites you to submit 2-D miniature art works with cash awards being presented for Best of Show, 1st Prize, 2nd Prize, 3rd Prize and Honorable Mention for our upcoming show, “Petite Moments.” REQUIREMENTS: Miniature paintings and sculptures are fine art on a small scale, with minute attention to detail, which can withstand close inspection or enlargement. As a guideline (not a rule) for a general definition of small scale, a subject should be no larger than 1/6 th actual size. (Example: A human head is about 9 inches so the painted head should be no larger than 1½".) Surface of ARTWORK not to exceed 24" (all sides added together must be 24" or less EXCLUDING frame - Example: if your actual piece is 5" x 7", then 5" + 5" + 7" + 7" = 24"). Sculpture should fit inside an 8"x 8" x 8" cube including the base. Non-representational work (abstracts) may meet the spirit of a miniature if the work meets the above definition of miniature. Original artwork only accepted all mediums except photography. Artists may submit up to 3 works for a non-refundable entry fee of $25 with additional pieces submitted at $5 each and with a limit of 6 works total per artist. All entries must be ready to install - framed (or edges painted) and wired to hang (no zigzag hangers). Paint must be dry at the time of drop-off. Gallery 50 reserves the right to reject work that requires an inordinate amount of difficulty in handling or does not meet the requirements as stated above. Art must be labeled on the back with updated info: artist’s name, address, phone number, e-mail address, title, medium and price. Please supply a brief biography of yourself ready for display. Artwork must be for sale with the price determined by the artist. Gallery 50, Inc. receives a 30% commission on the sale of artworks. Membership is required prior to opening of the show (This may be included with your entry.) Artwork to be considered for our announcement postcard must be submitted as either a photograph or a high quality digital file (clearly labeled) of your entry to THIS exhibition. Exhibiting artists are requested to bring a light refreshment for the opening reception. Unless directed by submitting artist, artwork may be reproduced for exhibition related materials and promotions. All works submitted will remain through the duration of this exhibition.. SHIPPING AND PICK-UP: Any artist living within a 50 mile radius from the gallery will be expected to hand deliver their artwork. Gallery 50, Inc. will accept shipped artwork if artist is more than a 50 miles from the gallery. For shipped artwork, include an additional $15 fee for storage, repacking and return shipping. Artwork must be packed in a repackable container. Unsold hand-delivered artwork is to be picked up at the end of the exhibition. Artwork not picked up will be stored at your risk. Submission of an entry to this competition constitutes agreement by the entrant to the conditions set forth in this prospectus.
