Is it a cat?
Is it a dog?
No, it is a clown!
It is a balloon!

The balloons are in a parade.
Some look like animals.
Others look like people.
The balloons are very big.

Balloons are made of pieces.
People sew them together.
It takes a long time to make a balloon.

The balloons grow larger.
They begin to float.
But they do not get away!

The ropes hang down.
Lots of people hold the ropes.
These people are strong.

The people have help, too.
People drive trucks under the balloons.
The balloons are tied to them.
They cannot float away.

It happens on Thanksgiving Day.
It is dark when the balloons come out.
The streets are empty.

Soon people are everywhere.
They come to watch the parade.
Others watch on television.
