Course Description
It's all about collaboration! A joint vectorworks class between Scenic
& Lighting Designers, in the pursuit of optimizing file sharing. Class
will focus on organization principles & guidelines, and delve into
techniques such as file referencing & PDF Integration. Learn good
practices regarding layer/class identifications, purging unused data,
correct use & location of labels & annotations, and dropbox etiquette,
all aimed at helping improve cross-discipline workflow. This class
format will also be an open dialogue among participants, discussing
their favorite and least favorite parts of sharing files and how we can
all improve the flow of information. Students should already be
comfortable with using Vectorworks as basic topics will not be
covered. Students will need to bring in a laptop with a copy of
Vectorworks installed. We would like to recommend VW 2016, but this
is not a requirement; you will still be able to fully participate with
earlier or later versions. Other topics can be covered based on the
wishes of those who register. The class will be jointly run by Lighting
Designer Cory Pattak and Scenic Designer Erica Hemminger, both of
whom have taught previous Vectorworks Training Classes for USA829.
