Simple Predicates
The predicate of a sentence tells us what the subject of the sentence is doing. The
predicate always has a verb. The verb is called the simple predicate.
Example: Josh ate pizza.
The simple predicate is “ate,” because it is a verb and tells us what Josh is doing.
